I just ordered Samantha's Travel Outfit set and the stereoscope. I know alot of people say those items remind them of the Titanic and they do..but they also fit in nicely with the 1904 St. Louis Fair theme. I live in the St. Lous area and the St. Louis History Museum had a free exhibition of period clothing (a life size mannequin family: man, woman, girl and boy dressed for a day out with accessories), toys (including a real "stereoscope" your child could operate), dishware, momentos, journals, crafts, and a life size trolley. I took my 8 year old daughter and we had alot of fun. There was also a short historical comedy play about a famous woman photographer, Jessie Tarbox Beal and her assistant "Punkin". They took literally hundreds of images during the run of the 1904 Fair. PS. If you don't live in the St. Louis area, but are interested in the topic try logging onto http://exhibits.slpl.lib.mo.us/lpe/d...read=240029410

we just moved to the area...we are about 2 or so hours from St. Louis. Do you know how long they are having the exhibit? Thanks...I guess I could look them up on the web, huh? Thanks for your post though, I didn't even think about the musuem of history in St. Louis. What a great learning tool! There is a piece of the Berlin wall here on post and I look forward to taking DD there for a little history!

I think the exhibit has ended. I might be wrong so please double check by either calling or logging on to the museum. Since this is the St. Louis area, they may still present the exhibit. I know it ran throughout 2004 for the centennial celebration. PS. If you like Kaya, check out the Lewis and Clark Anniversary info at the museum! I hope you enjoy the area - we have. We will be moving to Georgia in May, so I'm trying to get all of my Missouri/Illinois fun in now!

Hooray! I didn't know it would run that long but that is great. The play tickets cost a small fee ($5-8) but everything else was free. Have fun and bring your camera. Would you please post the website for the museum info? Thank you!
